Thousands Protest UK Austerity Measures

Thousands of people marched through London, on Saturday, as they protested austerity measures, planned by the government.

In Glasgow and Belfast, thousands more marched in coordinated protests.

The government has recently cut some services for the sick and disabled, in an attempt to start cutting their debt.

Labour leaders, who spoke to the protesters, were eventually booed away when they wouldn't promise to ensure that there would be no cuts at all.

The Conservative Party is aiming to cut the debt by removing government programs, whilst the Labour Party says if they were given control that they would attack the debt by raising taxes on the rich.

Israel Stops Activists From Breaching Gaza Blockade

The Israeli navy boarded and seized the Estelle, on Saturday.

Attempts to talk the vessel and it's occupants from trying to run the blockade of Gaza, failed, leaving Israel no other option.

Everything occurred without shots being fired or even the use of force.

All thirty pro Palestinian activists, aboard the vessel, have been detained and given food and water.

The IDF issued a statement saying, "Any organization or country wishing to reach Gaza or move humanitarian aid is able to do so legally and orderly at all times through land passages and in coordination with the Israeli authorities".

Israel maintains a blockade, around Gaza, in hopes of keeping weapons out of the area.

North Carolina Joins Meningitis Death List

The death toll from meningitis is now up to twenty-three, with North Carolina joining the states that have seen someone die from it.

Across the US the total of those sick rose to 281, with three more sick from peripheral infections.

All of the illness were caused by a contamination in anti inflammatory steroid shots.

Seventy-six locations, in twenty-three states, were sent the shots, which were given to as many as fourteen thousand people.

New England Compounding Center made the shots, and has complied completely with government officials who are conducting the investigation.

Investigators are worried that at least two other drugs, made by NECC, may have also been contaminated.
