China Preparing for Manned Space Launch

China continues to move forward with it's space program.

They are currently preparing Shenzhou 9 for a launch sometime in the next week.

Mission plans are for the space craft to carry three astronauts up to Tiangong 1, which is currently in orbit.

Tiangong 1 is the Chinese Space Station, launched September 29, 2011, which the country began building when they were blocked from joining the International Space Station.

One of the astronauts will stay on board Shenzhou 9, whilst the other two go aboard the station.

In November 2011, the unmanned, and remote controlled, Shenzhou 8 was docked to Tiangong 1.

So far no end date has been put on the mission, leaving the astronauts in space indefinitely.
