Starbucks Buys San Fransisco Bakery

Starbucks spent $100 million cash to buy La Boulange bakery, in San Fransisco.

Baked items from there will slowly begin to replace Starbucks' standard food fare in the Bay Area, and then spread to other US metro areas.

Plans are for all baked goods to be replaced by their own items from La Boulange.

The decision came as now a third of Starbucks US sales are generated from food.

The French style bakery should add a solid dynamic to the extremely popular Starbucks.

La Boulange has nineteen locations throughout the Bay Area, which also sells sandwiches and salads.

It is unknown if Starbucks plans to expand that part of the company, or just the baked goods.
